They Might be Giants Dial-A-Song Video Week 48
A few weeks back I was contacted by John Flansburgh of the indie rock band They Might be Giants to put together a stop motion animated video loosely based on a rough animatic by artist David Cowles for the song "I am Alone." The only hitch was no one in our studio had any experience making a stop motion animation.
A quick purchase of a second-hand copy stand, some animation software, a trip to JoAnn Fabrics, numerous hours making wired puppets, and many more hours of animation and editing by Joyce Hesselberth; and this thing practically made itself.
