Here is a new illustration I completed for the New York Times. The story, for the column "New Old Age" by Paula Span is about the dangers of polypharmacy. I have to admit that drawing pills as bullies was pretty fun! The little guy on top is definitely in charge. You can read the complete story here.

They Might be Giants Dial-A-Song Video Week 48
A few weeks back I was contacted by John Flansburgh of the indie rock band They Might be Giants to put together a stop motion animated video loosely based on a rough animatic by artist David Cowles for the song "I am Alone." The only hitch was no one in our studio had any experience making a stop motion animation.
A quick purchase of a second-hand copy stand, some animation software, a trip to JoAnn Fabrics, numerous hours making wired puppets, and many more hours of animation and editing by Joyce Hesselberth; and this thing practically made itself.
