National Portfolio Day Poster 2016: Baltimore

Each year, a different alumnus of the Maryland Institute College of Art is chosen to illustrate the poster for the National Portfolio Day held in Baltimore and hosted by MICA. This year's poster was illustrated by the talented Paige Vickers. For details about this year's event on November 20th please visit MICA's website here.

One Maryland One Book 2016

This year the Maryland Humanities Council selected All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely for the One Maryland One Book program. Spur designed materials for the program, including the poster, teachers' and readers' guides, and bookmark, with illustrations by Andrea Kalfas. Go here for more information about the program.

The Library of Congress

The Library of Congress has recently collected over 70 posters that I illustrated and designed. The collection includes 54 posters produced for Baltimore's Theatre Project from 2004 to the present. Also collected were 18 posters produced for clients that include The Maryland Institute College of Art and the indie rock band They Might Be Giants. The posters display a diverse range of illustration styles and print production techniques and were gifted to the Library of Congress.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company 40 plays / 40 Posters

Ogilvy and Mather invited me along with 39 other designer/illustrators to create a commemorative poster for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's 40 Anniversary. The play I chose was John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath, 24 x 36 inches.
